For the museum's exhibition about the power of people in a democracy we wanted to create an empowering video installation that sat in the heart of the space.

We had two key challenges. The first was showing visitors that democracy is more than voting and protesting. The second was to ensure the video was captivating but not intrusive.

I worked with the curator to develop an ambient and emotional collage showcasing ordinary Australians contributing to inclusion, community, equality and freedom. I sourced stories from community groups to local news to represent everyday experiences from across Australia. We designed the video without a beginning or end so visitors could dip in and out of it as they explored the exhibition.

The installation showcases that your contribution, no matter how small, makes a difference.
